Renovating your heart through praying in the Spirit

“But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost” (Jude 1:20 KJV)

The Word ‘building’ means to renovate, restore, refurbish or redecorate.

The Bible refers to our bodies as the temple of God, specifically in 1 Corinthians 3:16. This metaphor highlights the sacredness of our physical forms, likening them to a house or building. Just as houses require renovations and maintenance over time, our bodies, too, demand care and attention.

When you pray in the Spirit, you renovate your temple which can often be left desecrated and defiled by sin. When we are consistent in praying in the Spirit, you allow the Holy Spirit to refurbish your entire being, body soul and spirit.

Human is a tripartite, meaning we are made up of three parts: spirit, body, and soul. Your spirit is where you connect with God, while your body and soul are separate. Though evil spirit cannot tamper with our spirits oftentimes, evil spirits can influence our body and soul.

God says, “Building (renovating) up your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost” (Jude 1:20).

When you pray in the Holy Spirit (speaking in tongues your heavenly language), you renovate your spirit, soul and body resulting in fear being replaced with faith, anxiety being replaced with serenity, courage and boldness and the spirit being open to receive direction from God.

Apostle Paul was thankful for speaking in tongues a lot because it helped him do more for God’s kingdom. He was powerful against evil forces during his time on earth. The Bible says when someone prays in the Spirit, they are speaking to God in mysteries that no one else can understand.

The word mysteries means something that is difficult or impossible to understand or explain. Hence, when you pray in the Spirit, the kingdom of darkness that may surrounds you are thrown into confusion and disarray causing a breakthrough and victory for you. Hallelujah to the lamb of God! Pray without ceasing. Pray in your  Heavenly language. Pray in the Holy Ghost.
