When you are in the storm of your life

What is a storm?

The dictionary definition of a storm is a violent disturbance of an atmosphere filled with strong winds and usually rain, thunder, lightning or snow

A storm may be defined as an unforeseen adversity, an uncontrollable circumstance in which an individual finds themselves unable to manage or endure.

A storm may manifest in various forms and from various sources. For some individuals, their storm may involve battling a life-threatening illness, such as cancer. For others, it may entail navigating through a complicated divorce, grieving tthe loss of a loved one, facing infertility, confronting the imminent repossession of their home, or managing overwhelming debt leading to bankruptcy..

In Matthew 8:23-27 The Bible says:

“Then Jesus got into a boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. The disciples were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

In the biblical account found in Matthew 8:23-27, the disciples encountered a perilous storm while journeying by boat. In a state of conventional response, they succumbed to panic in fear for their lives. Subsequently, facing their dire circumstances, they made a crucial resolution to call out to Jesus.

According to the Scriptures, it is recorded that “the disciples went to wake Jesus, pleading, ‘Lord, save us! We are perishing!'”

Despite your efforts to find solutions through different methods, routines, systems, and self-help practices, you may have found that they have not been effective in calming the storms you are encountering.

In times where human wisdom proves insufficient, the boundless wisdom of God emerges triumphant. What mankind is incapable of achieving, God is able to accomplish, as all things are possible with Him.

Jesus has power over any storm; like the disciples said, “Even the winds and the sea obey Him” (Matthew 8:27).

In any turbulent situation you may encounter, by invoking the guidance of God through prayer and steadfastly adhering to the teachings of the Word of God, the Lord will intervene and transform the storm that threatens to harm you into a positive outcome in your favor.

The Bible says, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you”( Isaiah 43:2).

God is able to split the ocean and make a way for you when there seems to be no way.
