The Bible says,
“For if you altogether hold your peace at this time, then shall an enlargement and deliverance arise” (Esther 4:14 KJV).
When you choose to trust in God’s divine retribution instead of seeking personal vengeance against those who have wronged you, you invoke a divine obligation for God to avenge on your behalf.
This is rooted in the biblical admonition found in Romans 12:19, which instructs believers to refrain from seeking revenge and to instead make room for divine justice, as it is declared that vengeance belongs to the Lord.
The inherent inclination of human nature is to retaliate or reciprocate with vengeance. However, the renewed spirit within a believer exemplifies greater patience (as illustrated in the fruit of the spirit, Galatians 5:22) and is inclined to await divine guidance.
In the case of Esther, upon learning of Haman’s plot to annihilate the Jewish nation, including her own family, she refrained from taking retaliatory action using her own authority as queen. Instead, she chose to patiently wait, engage in fasting, and seek assistance from God (Esther 4:1-16).
Have you ever trusted someone only to have them betray you or deceive you? In such situations, it is important to place your trust in the Lord rather than taking matters into your own hands and retaliating. By relying on God as your advocate and defender, you can be assured of perfect judgment.
God will not only deliver you and proof your contenders wrong, He will promote you like He did Esther. God will promote you and enlarge your territory.
Enlargement means (expansion, growth, increase, addition, supplementation, broadening, and multiplication). Deliverance means (liberation, release, freeing, discharge, salvation, redemption, rescue, and emancipation).
Enlargement and deliverance are assured for those who forgive and pray for their enemies instead of resorting to retaliation. Remember, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood…” (Ephesians 6:12).
God said, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back. In due time their feet will slip. Their day of disaster will arrive, and their destiny will overtake them” (Deuteronomy 32:35).
In difficult circumstances, remember to trust in the Lord with all your heart and never lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall surely direct your path (Proverbs 3:5-6).
In Jesus Mighty name,
Amen.
