PROTECTING YOUR SPIRITUAL GARMENT FROM DEFILEMENT.

It is possible to possess all the materialistic things that this world can offer but still feel empty inside. It is possible to be clothed with expensive brand name clothes but still feel empty inside.

Jesus said, “You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth, But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful poor and naked” (Revelation 3:17).

There is a spiritual clothing, a covering given to the followers of Christ through the Holy Spirit. It is a spiritual clothing that covers your inward man. It’s capable of protecting you from the feelings of shame, guilt, humiliation and condemnation which Satan often brings on the followers of Jesus Christ.

Your spiritual clothing protects you from various diseases and sickness that often attacks the body. It’s also capable of replacing timidity with boldness, fear with faith, and cowardice with courage.

It was a spiritual clothing that was placed on Peter in Acts 2:1-41, by the Holy Spirit that transformed him from a coward who denied Christ into a courageous public speaker who spoke and won three thousand souls into the kingdom of Christ in a single day.

Your spiritual clothing is given by Christ through the Holy Spirit for both spiritual warfare and for divine protection.

In 1 Samuel 17:32-40, King Saul clothed the young man David with His armor as he prepared to face the giant called Goliath. David rejected Saul’s natural armor and went forth to slay Goliath. How? Because he had on a spiritual armor, a covering given to him by God through the Holy Spirit.

The prophet Isaiah spoke about the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness (Isaiah 61:3).

There is a divine endowment, a spiritual garment that is given to the faithful in Christ freely by God. It cannot be defiled, merchandised or purchased with money (Acts 8:18).

Jesus said “You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy” (Revelation 3:4).

The objective of Satan and his evil forces is to defile your spiritual garment through sinful acts such as sexual sins, idolatry, rebellion and any other sinful acts that goes against the Word of God.

Look what the Bible says in Zechariah 3:1-4 KJV

“And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment”.

Satan had access to Joshua the high priest, he stood beside him ready to resist him because he was clothed with filthy garment as a result of an iniquity or sin.

Sin will always defile your spiritual garment which attracts satanic forces to enter your life and resist you from progressing and fulfilling your divine assignment.

May the Lord increase His anointing in your life for the battle ahead. May you never be found naked on the day you meet the Lord in eternity. May you never be found naked before His throne in Jesus name.
