The Bible says:
“Suddenly, there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men” (Matthew 28:2-10).
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee.
There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshipped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”
Since the resurrection of Christ, there have been attempts to refute, reject, or deny its validity. This topic continues to be of interest due to the differing perspectives on the historical event.
Some people assert that the disciples appropriated the body of Jesus and fabricated the assertion of his resurrection.
Some people say that the body of Jesus was interred in a different location, thereby insinuating that the vacant tomb was orchestrated to fabricate the resurrection. It is essential to consider the account in John chapter 11, where Jesus notably restored Lazarus to life in the presence of numerous witnesses.
We cannot forget that in Luke chapter 7:11-17, Jesus resurrected a widow’s son from death.
We cannot forget that in Mark 5: 21-43, Jesus resurrected a man called Jarius’s daughter fom the dead.
In total, Jesus restored three individuals to life during his time on Earth. Jesus demonstrated his authority over death through these miraculous acts. The accounts in the four canonical Gospels, namely Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John (Matthew 28:1–6; Mark 16:1–7; Luke 24:1–12; John 20:1–12), collectively affirm the vacant tomb of Jesus.
The Bible says,
“For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him” (Romans 9:6).
On the day of His resurrection, Jesus appeared to three women, his mother Mary, Salome and Mary Magdalene.
These three women were in possession of fragrant oils and spices intended for the anointing of the body of Jesus Christ at the vacant tomb site. Upon their approach, they observed an extraordinary event unfolding. A significant disturbance occurred, prompting the guards responsible for protecting the tomb to become stunned and bewildered. In a state of fear and astonishment, they hastily departed to testify to the supernatural power of God.
An angel descended from the heavens and moved the great stone that the Romans had placed in front of the tomb in order to seal it and prevent access to the body of Jesus. Subsequently, Mary Magdalene hastily returned to inform the disciples that the body of Jesus could not be located.
The other women however approached the tomb, they saw an Angel sitting at the right side of the tomb, clothed in a long white garment. The Angel said “Don’t be afraid, you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is not here, He is risen” (Mark 16:6).
Today, I pray and stand in unwavering faith with you, believing that God will restore to vitality every positive aspect of your life that may appear to have perished.
Your relationships, your career, your businesses, your health, your ministry endeavours. I pray that God will revitalize them in Jesus Mighty name, Amen!
